Het werk van Edith Van Driessche neemt je mee langs zowat alles wat leven te bieden heeft aan emoties.
Edith is het soort artiest dat werk nodig heeft om het leven te kunnen hanteren. Het is haar manier om te verwerken wat er gebeurt, in haar leven en in de wereld.
“Boommensen”
In dit werk wordt een heel palet aan emoties, gedachten en situaties in een poëtisch schikking en bewoordingen samengebracht.
De gedachte om te zijn als een boom spreekt haar aan. Sterk en flexibel tegelijk. En om “niet zo intens te moeten voelen zoals wij mensen dat doen”.
Het werk doet in zijn geheel denken aan een boomstam, maar brengt vanbinnen het hele verhaal in beeld.

“Boommensen” (“Tree people”)
This work brings together a whole palette of emotions, thoughts and situations in a poetic arrangement and wording.
The idea of being like a tree appeals to her. Strong and flexible at the same time. And to “not have to feel so intensely as we humans do.”
The work as a whole is like a tree trunk. Inside, it portrays the whole story.
